NPCOG Youth Ministry Options:

The New Providence Youth Ministry exists for the purpose of providing a time and place for Junior & Senior High students to meet for Worship, Bible Study, Recreation and Fellowship time with friends.

This holistic approach to the ministry happens at various times and places.

Sunday Mornings

Each week our Youth Ministry starts off Sunday mornings at 9:00am with separate Jr. High & Sr. High Sunday School classes.  Although we rely on the Bible as our main textbook, we also utilize the Sunday School curriculum published by  Lifeway.  We have found the curriculum to be biblical, safe, engaging and highly effective.  Our goal is to get the youth to interact with the Scriptures and help them discover what the Bible means to teens!

Sunday Evenings

The evening portion of the Youth Ministry is a more relaxed time from 6:30 to 8:30 pm where students fellowship together during various activities.  These activities always include worship and prayer time and usually include group games or service projects.  Every other Sunday evening we split the JR High & Sr. High up for more age appropriate activities and studies.  The occasional fifth Sunday is usually dedicated as a "Movie Night" or other BIG activity.

Wednesday Evenings

Each Wednesday during the school year the youth meet at the Providence Elementary School on Truce Road at 6:30 to 8:00 pm for a night of Recreation, Worship, and a Message from Pastor Chuck Knowles or one of the ministry team leaders.  This is a great mid-week event that is open to the community where our youth are encouraged to invite their friends who want to connect in a meaningful, structured activity.

Other Activities / Events

Once a year students participate in a weekend rally at Ocean City, MD.  The Jr. High attend the "Alive" rally in November and the Sr. High attend the "Impact" rally in the spring.  The retreats are sponsored by Youth for Christ and are high energy, powerful retreats that leave the students spiritually motivated.  The Sr. High also have the opportunity to participate in an annual mission trip sponsored by Group WorkCamps in the summer.  This is where the students have the chance to serve others by repairing homes in areas that are depressed or poverty stricken.
